The internet got very good at showing you content.
It got worse at connecting people.
Crosschatter exists to fix that. We're a platform built for real conversations between real people — not curated feeds, not engagement loops, not algorithmic recommendations. Just two humans, talking.
What We Are
Crosschatter is a global chat platform that matches people based on where they are, what they care about, and how they want to connect. You can be completely anonymous, or you can build a full profile and a real community around shared interests. Either way, the goal is the same: meaningful conversation.
We built Crosschatter because we believe the tools for meeting people online have regressed. The alternatives are either random and shallow, or social networks optimized for broadcasting rather than connecting. Crosschatter is neither — it's a place to actually talk.
What We're Not
What's on the Platform
Our Values
Privacy as a default, not a setting
You can use the entire platform without giving us your name, email, or any identifying information. When you do share data with us, we use it only to run the service — never to sell or profile you.
Conversation over content
The primary unit of Crosschatter is a conversation, not a post. We optimize for the quality of what happens between people, not the volume of content created.
Global and genuinely diverse
We built location and interest matching that works at city, regional, and global scale — because who you talk to matters, and you should have real control over that.
Safety without surveillance
We take safety seriously — moderation tools, reporting, rate limiting, ban enforcement — but we don't believe safety requires spying on users. We've tried to build both.
Honest about what we are
We're an independent platform. We don't have billions in venture funding shaping our incentives. Our goal is to build something useful, not to capture your attention.
Where We Are Now
Crosschatter is actively developed and in public use. The platform is free to use. We're continuing to build and improve features based on how people actually use it and what the community needs.
If you run into something broken, have a feature idea, or want to tell us what's working — we genuinely want to hear it. Use the contact page or the bug report tool in the app.
